In the New York Times, Natasha Singer takes a skeptical look at the involvement of tech entrepreneurs in school reform efforts. Singer is worried that the philanthropic efforts of these wealthy individuals are moving very quickly and without sufficient public oversight.

In a new article for Education Next, Joanne Jacobs looks at one of these reform efforts from a different angle.

Jacobs describes how Summit Public schools, a charter school network known for “an approach that emphasizes both project-based and self-paced learning as well as the development of cognitive skills” has been sharing its model with schools around the countroy for free with support from Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.
