LA film and TV production fall, but it's not all bad news

Local movie and TV production dropped 4.7 percent in the second quarter of 2017 compared to a year ago, according to the latest report by FilmL.A., the region’s location permitting office.

But that figure isn’t as bad as it may look, the agency said.

“Declines in any category need to be put in context: the year-to-date comparison for the last seven years shows 2017 is second only to 2016 for total Shoot Days,” FilmL.
