A few things she had to say.
How old are you?
I am 16 years young.
You were nominated for ‘Best Actress’ in ‘The Auctioneer’ recently. Tell us about that experience.
I was over the moon when I was informed by the director of the film, I was literally jumping up and down for joy.
I am grateful for my acting being recognized as something that stands out and is worthy of being nominated for an award. Hard work pays off.
What are your hobbies?
I love to take pictures, I truly enjoy capturing moments in time in pixels – which otherwise would be gone and perhaps lost forever. I like to capture emotions in my photographs, I love when you can look at a photo and it sparks a certain feeling in the observer.
I have a digital folder with more than a thousand photographs and short films that I took. Very little of my work has been shared online. I am an artistic person in general. If you would walk into my room, you would be able to tell in an instance.
I love to paint, draw, design fashion – basically I love to create things. My room is actually a full fletched studio with all the bells and whistles you need for creating.
Can you please describe your work experience with Disney and NBCUniversal channels? What did you do for them?
In two words – incredibly fun. Being on set of multi-million dollar productions with big networks is something many young actresses dream of. The amount of precision put into the projects is enormous. Over 100 highly committed and hardworking people know exactly what their job is and what is expected of them at any given moment. I was filming a family show.
You were the lead in a film directed by an Emmy-award-winning director. How awesome was this experience?
It was a wonderful experience. He is one of the most talented filmmakers I have met and worked with thus far. We became very good friends and we are trying to work together again.
What are some of your plans for the future?
Making films! Either in front of the camera or perhaps even behind the camera. Next month I begin filming another movie. I also will portray an exciting role in a short film by an amazing filmmaker.
What advice could you give to teens in your field?
Trust your gut. That does not only apply to people in the film industry – it applies to everyone. Only you know yourself best and you know what is best for you. Don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise.
