Although the reported breakup remains unconfirmed by both G-Eazy and Ashley, the E! News source shared reported confirmation of the breakup after the Pretty Little Liars star had unfollowed the performer on Instagram. Additionally, G-Eazy’s Instagram has received a recent makeover, and posts once featuring Ashley are among those no longer featured on his grid.
The E! News source alleged that Ashley had felt the “vibe” between the couple was off. “She felt he hadn’t been fully committed to her,” the source alleged.
Speculation regarding a reported romance between the two started back in May 2020. Sharing in a grocery run together, some fans theorized that a romance between the two had started. An additional source with E! News did not confirm reported rumors of dating, instead saying they were “having fun,” and adding, “Ashley and G-Eazy aren’t dating but are definitely hanging out and having fun right now. It’s a good distraction for Ashley. They connected after working together recently, but have been friends for a while now and also have a few mutual friends.”
It was around that time that Ashley and Cara Delevingne had allegedly broken up, and news of Ashley reportedly moving on spurred some negative social media conversation among fans. Cara had addressed the drama directly, writing on an Instagram Story, “It’s more important now than ever to spread love, not hate…To everyone hating on @ashleybenson, please stop. You don’t know the truth, only her [sic] and I do and that’s exactly how it should be.”
News of G-Eazy and Ashley’s split comes a few months after G-Eazy made a public declaration of love to the former PLL star. He had commemorated Ashley’s December birthday with an Instagram message dedicated to the star, writing, “I love you to the moon & back.”
