CHN Staff Report
The Big Ten has announced a portion of its schedule, though still without game times.
After originally announcing games would begin the weekend of Nov. 13-14, an actual announcement of dates has been pushed back a number of times.
Finally on Thursday, the league announced the first portion of the schedule, approximately 10 games per team.
Wisconsin, whose football team has been ravaged by COVID-19 and has canceled two games, will be the first to play, at Notre Dame, Nov. 13 and 14. The announcement takes the schedule through Dec. 20.
Given that no fans will likely be admitted to the games, the dates of the games are all over the places, as opposed to your typical Friday-Saturday setup.
Two games are scheduled for Mondays, four on Tuesday, three Wednesday and eight on Thursdays.
The full schedule will feature 24 conference games for each team, plus an additional four per school against Arizona State hosted at Big Ten venues. The Big Ten Tournament is scheduled for March 18-20, 2021.
Big Ten hockey teams will follow the same medical protocols that were developed by the Big Ten Return to Competition Task Force and announced on Sept. 16, 2020, including daily antigen testing, enhanced cardiac screening and an enhanced data-driven approach when making decisions about practice/competition. Arizona State University has agreed to adhere to the same testing protocols as the Big Ten Conference.
