Billie Eilish is throwing it back to simpler times, and shared an optical illusion with social media followers that referenced “The Dress.” It’s been five years since the internet came together for the greatest fashion debate of our time, and Billie is ready to bring it back, 2020 style.
Participating in an Instagram Q+A with followers on her story, Billie was asked for her take on the dress. Instead of choosing one of the two sets of colors — blue and black, or white and gold — she made the case that the dress was actually blue and gold, promising that she was ready to prove it.
She then shared her own moment of fashion optical illusions, telling followers that years ago, she was wearing a pair of Nike shoes that her dad thought were pink and white, affirming that they’re actually green and white.
But after showing fans the shoes, Billie was shocked to find that that many actually agreed with her dad. Grabbing a Google Image screenshot of the actual shoes, which are of the Nike Air More Uptempo line, Billie revealed that the shoes are indeed mint and white. Mind, blown.
Billie continued to argue that the shoes were not pink, pointing out additional images, and noting that she previously wore the shoes for photoshoots with her signature green clothing items. She then ended the Q+A session with fans over their “nonsense,” and the great shoe debate was left unfinished.
As for followers on Twitter, some still were undecided on the shade, writing, “Every time I look at Billie Eilish’s story those shoes are a different colour” and “Billie Eilish getting into a heated argument over the colour of her shoes is one of the highlights of my day.” Some were left incredibly confused, wondering, “Where is the green meant to be?” and “Literally my eyes have been playing games with @billieeilish ‘s shoes on Insta. I see pink and then I see mint. I don’t understand how my eyes keep changing the colors of the shoes”
