Bond film likely to be delayed until Fall 2021

No Time to Die, James Bond, Daniel Craig, Cary Joji Fukunaga

It sounds as if NO TIME TO DIE will have to wait a bit longer to die. According to common sense, I’m sorry, according to Deadline, MGM/Eon’s next Bond film will assuredly move from its Easter weekend release of April 2 to some time in the fall, as we all wait for the pandemic lose steam.

For the moment, this is just words on the wind, but with No Time to Die unable to be released in major parts of the UK as well as the United States, it’s practically a given that the film will be delayed. Here’s the thing, rumors don’t start themselves, right? Whispers related to No Time to Die being pushed (yet again) began yesterday on the Dutch site BN DeStem, in which Dutch exhibitor Carlo Lambregts revealed his scoop about the switch to an autumn release. It’s also been said that No Time to Die promotional partners have already been alerted to the change. No definitive release date has been given, and so we have ourselves a “wait and see” situation.

In Cary Joji Fukunaga’s No TIme to Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga from a screenplay penned by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade, and Cary Joji Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, No Time to Die stars Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, with Jeffrey Wright, with Christoph Waltz and Ralph Fiennes as “M.” Rory Kinnear, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, and Billy Magnussen also star.

In the immortal words of Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski, “This is a bummer, man.”
