Home Schooling

Roll Call, 1/20

Brrrrrr, in for some very cold days here. wind chills in the negative range. That with some lake effect snow and drifting will definitely make things interesting here today.

Happily, things are relatively normal around here. DD seems to be working herself out of her funk with her final semester starting at U of Iowa. DS is really enjoying his classes at Purdue. One of them is on caves, and they get to go on optional weekend field trips to caves in southern Indiana, with a spring break trip to Mammoth Cave. He hasn’t been there since he was 12, so that should be fun.

MLK day is tomorrow. When the kiddos were home and older (middle/high school), we would spend some time talking about his work, and his legacy. One year we also analyzed his speeches, both how they were written and delivered, to determine why they were so powerful. Do you mark the day in your homeschool?

So, that’s what’s new for me. What are you and/your kids up to?

This site is an INCLUSIVE community that recognizes that homeschoolers choose secular homeschool materials and resources for a variety of reasons and to accomplish a variety of personal and educational goals. Although SecularHomeschool.com, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, SecularHomeschool.com respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
