October’s hottest hitter is only getting hotter as he looks to push the Dodgers into the World Series.

Corey Seager set a pair of National League Championship Series records with his fifth home run and 11th RBI in the first inning of Game 6 on Saturday at Globe Life Field. Justin Turner followed with a back-to-back homer off Braves starter Max Fried, and the Dodgers continued to rally to take a 3-0 lead.

What Seager has done so far in the NLCS has been historic. His five home runs are one shy of the half-dozen Nelson Cruz hit for the Rangers in the 2011 American League Championship Series, while his 11 RBIs are two fewer than Cruz’s total in that same series. The last player to hit five homers in a postseason series was Houston’s George Springer, against the Dodgers in the ’17 World Series. The only other NL player to hit five homers in a series was Chase Utley in the ’09 Fall Classic; until Seager, no NL hitter had driven home 11 runs.

The homer pushed Seager’s NLCS batting average to .429, with seven of his nine hits going for extra bases.

And he was far from the only Dodger to knock around Fried in the first inning. After Seager hit his 359-foot homer, Turner followed with a 418-foot blast to tie Steve Garvey for second on the Dodgers’ all-time postseason list (10). Turner, who already has the most postseason RBIs in Dodgers history with 39, is one home run shy of matching Duke Snider for the franchise lead.

Los Angeles then rallied with a walk by Max Muncy, a single by Game 5 hero Will Smith and a Cody Bellinger RBI hit to take a three-run advantage against Fried. Once trailing in the best-of-seven NLCS, 3-1, the Dodgers put themselves in position to force a potential winner-take-all Game 7.
