Aside from the new addition, iOS 14.5 will also feature a redesigned syringe, headphones, and climbing emojis. (Apple has added helmets to the climbers because safety is first!)
Emoji’s Apple sister Memoji also got some great upgrades this year. Memoji updates take a while to be fully integrated into our phones because of the near-constant fine-tuning and upgrading. Apple is always working to make Memoji more accurate, and the iOS 14 update included more hair options and better facial recognition so your Memoji is as expressive as can be!
Representation is also important for Memojis; the latest update, with was introduced with iOS 14, added new hairpieces and styles like waves, durags, and more realistic fades. It’s worth noting that all current hair accessories work with every single hairstyle option on Memoji — a major technical challenge that Apple has prioritized. Aside from hair customization, Memojis can now give virtual hugs, blush, and fist bump. As part of the latest update, masks were also added to Memoji’s accessory repertoire because we are still in the middle of a pandemic and why wouldn’t your Memoji reflect that? Apple currently offers two face coverings options – a medical and a fabric face mask – that can be customized to feature any color of your liking.
Last but not least, you’ll soon be able to search emojis much more easily on your iPad too. Similar to iPhones, a future update will allow iPad users to search the emoji library with a word or phrase, making it simple to find what you’re looking for and let these little images do all the talk! After all, a picture is worth a thousand words!
