It has been a year since loungewear became the mainstay in our own closets and comfort is here to stay. When it comes to wardrobe staples, Everlane knows a thing or two.
Today, the Selena Gomez-approved direct-to-consumer brand is launching its most sustainable loungewear collection yet, and to further evolve the traditional aspects of your fave sweatshirts, joggers, and hoodies, Everlane is looking to the past. Enter: The Track collection.
The Track collection consists of five styles for women and three styles for men. Each garment is made with 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, which means it meets the Global Organic Textile Standard from farm to factory. The very best part? It starts at the accessible price point of $45. Heavily inspired by vintage tracksuit samples from the late ’70s and ’80s, every style in this collection has a premium feel without the luxury markup.
“Through this collection, we wanted to offer the classic Track styles at accessible prices for both men and women. We edited the collection to offer the core styles that can last in your wardrobe for years,” Sonia Martin, Everlane’s VP of design told Teen Vogue.
And I can attest to that. I was lucky enough to test out The Track Oversized Crew ($48) and The Track Jogger ($58) during the Presidents’ Day long weekend and here’s what you need to know.
At first glance, this might seem like your usual matching set but it is all in the details. The custom-developed materials mixed with retro touches and modern proportions really make this cozy set stand out. Adding to the details, this is the first collection Everlane will offer with an “E” logo embroidered on every piece.
If you are thinking of dipping your toes into loungewear, or diving in headfirst, this collection a great place to start. If you are a seasoned (or self-proclaimed) loungewear connoisseur (like me!) and you are a fan of an oversized fit you might have to get used to where the joggers fall on your legs, though. I ordered a size small and the seam fell just slightly above my ankle, this took some getting used to since I usually wear mine at or under the ankle so I can scrunch them up.
However, this is a preference thing. The design, like everything Everlane does, is 100% on purpose. “For the Track Jogger, you’ll notice an inseam that is curved forward on one leg and curved backward on the other. We wanted to pull that detail from the past and apply it to the future, so vintage details live on,” Martin explained.
All in all, this collection gets the editor’s stamp of approval. I will definitely wear this set during more long weekends to come and I’m eyeing the Track Half Zip for all my layered looks if this NYC snow doesn’t go away!
