Florida Adds Verbal Commitment from Canada’s Jessica Strong (2022)

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Jessica Strong, a junior at the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, will remain in-state for her collegiate career. She has made a verbal commitment to the University of Florida’s class of 2026.

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Florida! I have so many people to thank, who got me to where I am today. Thank you to all my coaches and teammates who have made me fall in love with the sport and have pushed me to be my best. Also, a big thank you to my parents, who have supported me through everything! GO GATORS!🐊🐊”

Strong swims for Bolles School and the club team Bolles School Sharks and specializes in breaststroke. She moved to Florida from Vancouver, Canada in 10th grade to board at Bolles and promptly scored 6th in the 100 breast (1:05.40) at the 2019 FHSAA 1A State Championships. This season she came in 3rd (1:03.11). She also placed 9th in the 200 IM (2:09.37) at the 2020 Florida Class 1A State Meet.

She also swam breast (32.87) on her school’s 200 medley relay that won the Gold Cup at Provincials. Strong currently has Canadian Junior National times, Senior National times and Junior Trials times in 50m and 100m breast and she is just .07 off the Junior Trials cut for 200m breast. She also swims sprint backstroke and fly.
