Jose Martinez deal with Mets

The Mets have agreed with first baseman/outfielder José Martínez on a split contract, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand on Thursday. He’ll earn $1 million with $500K in incentives if he makes the club, and he’ll earn $225,000 if he’s in the Minors.
The club has not confirmed the deal.
