In general, when a major fashion house like Givenchy shoots a new campaign, there are tons of people involved: makeup artists, hairstylists, clothing stylists, prop stylists, models, designers… the list goes on and on. However, for the French brand’s latest campaign, creative director Matthew Williams tried something different.
In Kendall’s shot, she poses before a red background, wearing a fitted red long-sleeved shirt with matching trousers, a thick gold chain at her neck, and complementary earrings in her ears. Her hair is slicked back and wet-looking and her skin is fresh and simple with minimal makeup. Between her legs is a shimmering golden Antigona bag. In another photo, Kendall wears an oversized, minimal blazer jacket, simple trousers, and Givenchy’s infamous three-toed sandals alongside an elegant yet edgy CutOut bag.
Bella, for her part, wears a nude beige dress with cutouts at the elbows and a larger cutout in the back, paired with some ’90s-inspired platform wedge shoes. Her hair is also wet-looking, and she rocks a beige lip and eye look alongside the attention-grabbing dress. Also included in the campaign is Playboy Carti, who wears a mesh tank top and leather jacket with a slim gold chain. All of the pics were shot by photographer Heji Shin and inspired by fashion editorials of the ’90s.
“My ethos is about the luxury of infusing clothes with your own personality, not being worn by them,” Williams told WWD. “In each of these portraits, a strong character wears a look that reflects who they are: They’re the ones who bring the clothes to life.”
