Lana Condor Will Star in and Produce Netflix Series “Boo, Bitch”

With the final To All the Boys movie Always and Forever on the horizon, star Lana Condor already has her next move planned out. Per Netflix, she’ll star in and executive produce a live action series titled, Boo, Bitch

The series is “about a high school senior who, after years of playing it safe, decides to live an epic life … only to wake up the next morning and find out she’s now a ghost,” Netflix tweeted. Lana will play the ghostly senior, though the rest of the cast hasn’t been announced yet.

Lana has had other projects following her breakout success in the first To All the Boys film, including a budding music career, but Boo, Bitch will be her next big live-action starring role. In an interview with Teen Vogue last year, To All the Boys author Jenny Han expressed her hopes for Lana’s future: “From the very beginning, when we first met, what I said to Lana was I just wanted her to be able to have a long career. As somebody who comes from the book world, I’ve seen a lot of young actresses propel off of young adult book properties. We really haven’t had the opportunity to see that with young women of color. I just wanted to see her be able to get those same kinds of opportunities that we’ve seen other young women get.” It appears that prophecy is coming true.

According to Variety, the series was created by Erin Ehrlich and Lauren Iungerich based on “an original script optioned from newcomers, Tim Schauer and Kuba Soltysiak.” In addition to Lana, the half-hour comedy will be produced by Jonathon Komack Martin (Deadpool), Blake Goza (The Change-Up), and Jamie Dooner (On My Block).

Will the theme song for the show be Kim Petras’s song of the same name? Only time will tell.
