We’d like to introduce you to Holly. We had the pleasure to get the chance to interview Holly. Holly is 14 years old and she can already do her own makeup. She is definitely a teen on a mission. Holly Has 33k followers on instagram check her out.
Why do you feel that makeup is important?
I think makeup is important because it allows me and many others to express themselves. I like to use it as a tool to de-stress if I’m having a lot of tests or being put under a lot of pressure because of school. Coming home everyday to just sit down and create really calms me down and if it goes wrong I know I can just wipe it off.
It’s also important to me because I’m not very sporty. At school pretty much all of the extra curricular activities are sports so having makeup as a hobby (and my Instagram account) means that I’m spending my time doing something I love instead of watching Netflix all the time ahahaha.
What’s the most creative you’ve ever gotten with your makeup?
I’m not the most creative person with makeup as I like to stick to looks that I know my followers would wear in every day life (well most of the time).
I do like to play with colour though, as you’ll see on my feed, and try to incorporate it into more everyday looks so that if you’re feeling a bit adventurous one day, it’s easy to recreate.
Can you remember the last time you went without wearing makeup?
I actually go without makeup all the time! I never really wear it daily as I’m more of a ‘go big or go home’ kind of girl.
But when I’m going somewhere special, or I just want to look a bit nicer or feel more confident I put the basics on like mascara, foundation, concealer, ect…
Eyeshadow isn’t really something that I do out of video because it takes me quite a long time and most of the time I’m in a rush from waking up late ahah.
Would you ever start your own makeup line?
Me and my mum were actually talking about this the other day. And the answer is yes.
However, I’d want it to grow like Huda Beauty and become global, with amazing products and have something that everyone enjoys. I’d want my products to be the top quality yet still fairly cheap so lots of people could get their hands on it.
I’d also want it to be produced on a large scale and be bigger than just me.
Have a whole team, an office. Definitely something to aspire to for the future.
If I didn’t come out with my own brand as I know it is so much work, I’d love to collaborate with a brand such as Anastasia Beverly Hills or Huda Beauty.
Again, definitely something for the future!
If any person who do you try to immolate your makeup from?
I take a lot of inspiration from a lot of different people.
The main few are Soph Does Nails, Stephanie Toms, Lenkalul and Huda Kattan.
There are so many more though! My makeup style is the most similar to Soph’s because I learnt pretty much everything from her videos.
I also look up to lots of my Instagram friends because so many of them have achieved such amazing things and I hope to do the same sometime in the future.
I’m so lucky to have met so many lovely people online who either share my passion for makeup or are just so unbelievably supportive and lovely.
Without them I wouldn’t get opportunities like this and I know I wouldn’t be here without them.
