Mom-and-pop food vendors evicted from Los Angeles community college campuses

WOODLAND HILLS >> Ofir Bass closed two restaurants and shelled out tens of thousands of dollars to bring a food plaza to life in the long-vacant campus restaurant at Los Angeles Pierce College.

Then the district overseeing Los Angeles community colleges moved this week to hire a single food provider for its nine campuses and give local vendors like Bass’ Falafelicious Catering the boot.
