CHN Staff Report

Former Boston University standout and long-time NHL forward Jay Pandolfo is set to become an associate head coach at his alma mater, the Boston Globe has reported.

Pandolfo has been an assistant coach with the Boston Bruins the last five seasons. He replaces Paul Pearl, who stepped down recently and was named head coach at Cushing Prep today.

Pandolfo, a native of Winchester, Mass., had 78 goals and 167 points in 133 games with BU over four seasons (1992-96), and was a number of the Terriers’ 1995 national championship team. Pandolfo scored 38 goals as a senior, and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.

He went on to play 899 career games in the NHL, mostly for the New Jersey Devils, and scored 100 goals.
