Watch as Baby Mando Gets Recruited by Kylo Ren at Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Star Wars cosplay has been stepped up. Baby Mandalorian was brought to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge by his father and people were freaking out. The little dude is dressed in a pretty amazing costume from The Mandalorian as the hero and he’s carrying around his very own Baby Yoda (more on that later). While visiting the Star Wars area of Disneyland, Baby Mando was approached by Kylo Ren and The First Order. Thankfully, there is video of the awesome moment.

Din Djarin is the hero of The Mandalorian, though he obviously has a sketchy past. But, Baby Mando seems to be into the idea of joining The First Order, at least he does in the video. Maybe he wants to spy on them. One can easily tell that the Disneyland cast members were really impressed with Baby Mando and his costume that his dad built for him. The recruitment routine at Disneyland is one of the more entertaining aspects of the new area of the park, which is set to open the new Rise of the Resistance ride tomorrow, January 17th.

The First Order recruitment of Baby Mando gathered a huge crowd of people taking photos and video. One of the commonly asked questions about the video is where Baby Mando got his Baby Yoda. Just like his epic costume, his father constructed Baby Yoda too, so don’t expect to find the incredibly detailed toy on the shelves any time soon. The official Baby Yoda merchandise won’t be available until May, which could very well kick off Baby Yoda fever once more after dominating the holiday season and taking over the meme game for a solid month.

Baby Mando’s recruitment video and other images have earned him quite the following on social media. He was even invited to come out to this year’s Star Wars Celebration, which could find him face to face with Jon Favreau and maybe even The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal. Whatever the case may be, it doesn’t look like the little dude is able to walk around without people mobbing him for photos, so if you see him in public, remember that he’s just a little patient kid under all of that armor.

The Mandalorian has brought Star Wars fans together in a feat that seemed impossible even months before the show’s premiere. With the show getting so big so fast, Disney was not able to cash in on the Baby Yoda fever, but they will in just a few months. With that being said, season 2 is on the way and one can’t help but wonder if we’ll see some Mando involvement at Galaxy’s Edge in an official capacity. If someone were to walk around with a legit Baby Yoda animatronic puppet, fans would more than likely lose their minds. You can check out the video of Baby Mando getting recruited by The First Order below, thanks to Logan Winter’s Twitter account.

The Mandalorian Star Gina Carano Is She-Hulk in Disney+ Series Fan Art

A She-Hulk TV series is currently in the works at Disney+, and some new fan art convincingly presents The Mandalorian star Gina Carano as Jennifer Walters. As of now, the role of the titular superheroine has yet to be officially cast, leaving Marvel fans to imagine their own casting choices with fan art such as this. Based on the success of The Mandalorian, spdrmnkyxxiii on Instagram has taken to creating some new fan art of Carano in the role, and it’s really not hard to see it as a reality. You can take a look at the fan art below.

Gina Carano isn’t a bad choice when it comes to casting She-Hulk, though a frontrunner for the show’s lead role has essentially already been picked by fans. There’s been a lot of support for casting Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz in the part, and she has also been imagined as Jennifer Walters in some fan art of her own. There has been enough interest in the idea that word even made its way back to Beatriz, who spoke about the potential casting. “I would die to play that role. That is so flattering. That is one of the best characters in that universe,” Beatriz said of the possibility.

UFC and WWE star Ronda Rousey has also come up as a possible casting choice for She-Hulk. Known best for her efforts in the octagon and the wrestling ring, Ronda Rousey would definitely bring the physicality needed for the role. The fighter does have some acting experience as well, appearing in movies like The Expendables 3, Furious 7, and Charlie’s Angels. Rousey also voices the popular video game character Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat 11. As with Carano and Beatriz, Rousey has also been drawn up as Jennifer in She-Hulk fan art, and her fans have also been calling for Rousey to get the role.

In the world of Marvel Comics, the She-Hulk character was introduced as Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner – the Incredible Hulk himself. When Bruce is forced to give her a blood transfusion to save her life, Jennifer acquires a milder version of his condition. It’s enough to give her super strength and tint her skin with a greenish color, though Jennifer is able to maintain control of her emotions much better than her cousin. As an attorney, Jennifer also uses her brain power to fight on behalf of various superheroes in the court of law. The premise is ripe for a television series, and there’s already a lot of anticipation for the upcoming show from Disney+.

Time will tell if the role of Jennifer Walters ultimately goes to Carano or another actress. For now, you can check her out as Cara Dune in season 1 of The Mandalorian, which is streaming in full on Disney+. No word yet on when we’ll also see She-Hulk making its way to the streaming service. The fan art shown above of Carano as She-Hulk comes to us from spdrmnkyxxiii on Instagram.

New Star Wars Movie Targets The Mandalorian & Thor 4 Director Taika Waititi

Taika Waititi is reportedly in talks with Lucasfilm to direct his own Star Wars movie. Waititi directed the final episode of The Mandalorian and has been praised for his work. In addition, he also voiced the popular droid character IG-11, who the director hails as the hero of the show. While he was kidding about the hero remark, it’s not totally untrue. Waititi’s name has been thrown around quite a bit over the past few years, but will he really sign on this time?

As for what this Taika Waititi project will be, that is unclear. Lucasfilm may have just pitched the idea to the director and could be waiting for a response. In late 2017, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy was asked about Taika Waititi directing a Star Wars movie and she was very positive about it. “I would love for him to direct a Star Wars movie. I think he has exactly the right sensibility,” she said. A lot has happened in the franchise since then.

All of the dots line up for Taika Waititi to jump on board his own Star Wars project. He has already worked on The Mandalorian and he could possibly come on to work with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige who has something secret brewing. Waititi and Feige have worked together many times now and are preparing to do so again with Thor: Love and Thunder. With that being said, will the Academy Award nominated director have the time to jump into Star Wars? Jojo Rabbit was just nominated for six Oscars and Waititi was already in high demand before that.

RELATED: No Star Wars Movie in 2022? Expect a Long Hiatus After The Rise of Skywalker

When it comes down to it, Taika Waititi could be another breath of fresh air for the Star Wars franchise, just like The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau. At this point in time, fans are probably curious to see what the director could do with the franchise, especially looking at what he did for the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Thor: Ragnarok. Chris Hemsworth was over playing The God of Thunder and fans were getting a bit burnt. However, Waititi was able to revive the character and the enthusiasm for him from fans and even Hemsworth.

Taika Waititi was recently asked about the possibility of directing a Star Wars movie and he was into the idea. This is quite different from his answer when asked about it back in 2017 when he said, “Lolz. I like to complete my films.” This was a direct reference to Lucasfilm’s rocky relationship with directors, which has only gotten worse since 2017. Jon Favreau and Taika Waititi could very well be the future of Star Wars now that The Rise of Skywalker has closed out the Skywalker Saga. Will the new trilogy be helmed by Waititi? Probably not, but hopefully we’ll find out really soon. Possibly at this year’s Star Wars Celebration. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to break the news.

2020 NFL Draft: Clemson star WR and projected first-round pick Tee Higgins turning pro

The 2020 NFL Draft class is loaded with top-end talent at the wide receiver position, and it’s only getting deeper. On Wednesday, Clemson star Tee Higgins officially declared for the draft and bolstered the already-deep receiver class, giving NFL teams another talented pass-catcher to consider in the first round.

Higgins is ranked by CBS Sports as the No. 4 receiver in the draft class and the No. 17 overall prospect. A 6-foot-4 junior, Higgins is  coming off his first 1,000-yard receiving season for the Tigers where he hauled in 59 receptions for 1,167 yards and scored 13 times.

He caught three passes for 52 yards in Clemson’s 42-25 loss to LSU in the national championship on Monday.

Higgins was a five-star prospect out of high school, ranked by 247Sports as the No. 2 prospect at his respective position. He contributed as a true freshman in 2017 but really burst onto the scene as a sophomore last year when he caught 59 passes for 936 yards. He led the Tigers this season in yards receiving, receiving touchdowns and yards per catch.

NFL draft writer Chris Trapasso recently updated his mock draft and projected Higgins to the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 21. The Eagles are in desperate need of an upgrade at receiver with Alshon Jeffery’s injury and Nelson Agholor headed for free agency, and Higgins’ experience as a No. 1 option for a top-2 college team could be a talent that quarterback Carson Wentz relies upon early.

Incredibly, Clemson is still the favorite to win it all next season despite Higgins’ departure, which had been expected. The Tigers return quarterback Trevor Lawrence as well as second-leading receiver Justyn Ross, who should be in line for a feature role next season.

Reba McEntire to Guest Star on ‘Young Sheldon’ as Coach Ballard’s Ex-Wife – TV Insider

Robby Klein

It sounds like things might be getting a little messy in Coach Ballard’s (Craig T. Nelson) life on Young Sheldon.

Reba McEntire will be guest starring in a February episode as his “fun, fiery ex-wife,” June, who “strikes up an unlikely friendship with Meemaw (Annie Potts).”

Though Coach Ballard and Meemaw didn’t “hit it off right away at all,” as Nelson told TV Insider, they are currently dating.

“He’s got an ex-wife who owns half of [his] sporting goods store, which I think he resents,” he added prior to his character’s debut. The actor also called his character “a fun jerk,” and having his ex-wife around should certainly put that on display.

(Robert Voets/2019 Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.)

McEntire’s previous TV credits include Baby DaddyThe NeighborsMalibu Country, and Reba, with her most recent appearance coming in a 2016 episode of Last Man Standing.

2020 NFL Draft: LSU star DB Grant Delpit declares for pros as potential first-round pick

LSU safety Grant Delpit plans to forgo his senior season and enter the 2020 NFL Draft, the Tigers defensive standout announced Wednesday on Twitter. The 2019 Jim Thorpe Award winner is considered a potential first-round pick after racking up 199 tackles and eight interceptions in his three seasons with the Tigers.

The announcement comes two days after Delpit capped his collegiate career with a national championship in the city where he lived until Hurricane Katrina displaced his family when he was 6 years old. Delpit battled an ankle injury late in the season that kept him from playing to his full potential, but he still finished with six tackles and a sack in the Tigers’ 42-25 win over Clemson

“I will carry the joy and excitement of this season with me forever,” Delpit wrote in the Twitter post announcing his decision.

Losing Delpit will be a considerable blow for LSU, albeit one the Tigers likely expected. Freshman Maurice Hampton started in Delpit’s place for a November game against Arkansas as Delpit was battling the aforementioned ankle injury. Hampton, who also plans to play baseball at LSU, recorded six tackles against the Razorbacks and ended the season listed second on the team’s depth chart at strong safety. Four-star safety prospect Jordan Toles is also signed as part of LSU’s 2020 recruiting class.

Delpit is ranked ninth in the CBS Sports 2020 NFL Draft prospect rankings, and is currently projected as the No. 31 overall selection by the San Francisco 49ers in the latest mock draft from CBS Sports expert Ryan Wilson.

Amazon’s Lord of Rings TV Show Replaces Will Poulter with Game of Thrones Star

Game of Thrones star Robert Aramayo is officially taking over for Will Poulter in Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV series. Aramayo will be playing the lead character known as Beldor. It is believed that Poulter had to step down from the role because of scheduling conflicts. At any rate, Amazon has already gone ahead and renewed the new show, which hasn’t even aired, for a season 2, which just goes to show how much confidence they have in their new property.

With Will Poulter now out of the way, Robert Aramayo stars in Amazon’s Lord of the Rings along with His Dark Materials star Morfydd Clark, who is playing a young Galadriel. The rest of the cast is believed to be Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, and Joseph Mawle. However, Amazon has yet to confirm the castings. The series is set in Middle Earth and it will explore new storylines preceding J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring. This is going to be huge if Amazon can pull it off correctly.

As for Robert Aramayo’s role in Game of Thrones, he played the young Ned Stark through flashbacks in seasons 6 and 7. Robert Aramayo was pivotal in exposing the true identity of Jon Snow, which is something that fans will forever remember. With that in mind, his casting for the Lord of the Rings series seems like a wise choice, especially since Game of Thrones fans wanted to see more of what he could do in the young Ned Stark role, though that had a lot more to do with the storyline.

RELATED: Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV Series Will Explore New Stories

Amazon’s Lord of the Rings season one will go on a 4 to 5-month hiatus after shooting the first two episodes, in order properly map out and write most of the scripts for season 2. There’s a lot of work to be done on the upcoming series and this hiatus shows just how much effort Amazon Prime is putting into the show. With that being said, fans have been waiting a long time to see what the streaming service was going to do, and this makes the wait a lot longer, so they better hope that they’re sitting on something good.

Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series is produced by Amazon Studios. Showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay executive produce, along with director J.A. Bayona and his producing partner Belén Atienza, Lindsey Weber, Bruce Richmond, Gene Kelly, Sharon Tal Yguado. The writers for the show include, Gennifer Hutchison, Jason Cahill, and Justin Doble. It’s not clear when we’ll get our first glimpse of the show, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be for a while, judging by the hiatus after the first two episodes. Hopefully Amazon will provide some production updates in the near future. Deadline was the first to report on Robert Aramayo’s Lord of the Rings casting.

Quentin Tarantino Says He Probably Won’t Direct a Star Trek Movie

The persistent rumor that legendary director Quentin Tarantino would be directing a Star Trek movie is something that sounds too good to be true, and sadly that is looking more and more likely to be the case. The idea of Tarantino helming a story set in the Star Trek universe is so crazy that it would probably end up working incredibly well. Who would not want to see the lightning-quick dialogue of a Tarantino script spill out from the mouths of a group of Klingons? Unfortunately, whilst discussing his newest movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Tarantino confirmed that he probably won’t ever boldly go where no man has gone before.

“I think they might make that movie, but I just don’t think I’m going to direct it. It’s a good idea. They should definitely do it and I’ll be happy to come in and give them some notes on the first rough cut. It was just so nice to make a movie about the industry, and have the industry embrace it. At different Academy events, there has been a whole lot of old timers there who were around then and really liked the movie. Richard Rush thought we had captured the period well. Actors like Monte Markham, Sharon Farrell, Rita Moreno and all these people who dug the movie and knew the people involved and sometimes had affairs with some of the people involved with the people who were involved with the people who were on screen.”

Well, tickle us disappointed. Though it does at least sound like Tarantino is more than willing to have some involvement should his Star Trek idea ever come to fruition. It was at the end of 2017 that curious rumors began circulating that Tarantino might direct a Star Trek movie, and over the last few years these rumors have simultaneously been quashed and exaggerated. Call us hopeful, but at least the director does not completely kill the idea that we might eventually see some semblance of a Tarantino-inspired Star Trek story. Some time ago, Paramount did assemble a writers room to workshop Tarantino’s Star Trek idea, even hiring The Revenant’s Mark L. Smith to write a screenplay, so the foundations for the movie are out there somewhere.

For now, Tarantino fans will just have to enjoy the fact that the directors latest movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has racked up an impressive 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for the man himself, as well as the movie also netting nominations for both Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.

The Tarantino Star Trek movie also seemed like a long shot, especially when the director has said his next movie may well be his last, but one can’t help but be a little disappointed, regardless. This news comes to us from https://deadline.com/2020/01/quentin-tarantino-oscar-nominations-once-upon-a-time-in-hollywood-star-trek-bounty-law-tv-series-1202829629/|Deadline.

Klay Thompson injury update: Warriors star says he’d ‘love’ to play this season, but will be ‘very patient’

SAN FRANCISCO — It’s been a while since injured Warriors guard Klay Thompson has spoken publicly, but during a press conference about his Washington State jersey retirement in the middle of the Warriors’ 124-97 loss to the Mavericks on Tuesday night, Thompson also briefly addressed his rehab from a torn ACL suffered in last year’s NBA Finals.

Thompson was scheduled to talk to the media before the game, but in true Thompson fashion the conference was delayed until halftime, and it lasted well into the third quarter of the game.

“It’s going great. At least my suits are well-tailored,” Thompson said of his rehab. “It’s fun to watch these guys battle. Obviously I wish I could be out there. It’s been a long process. I mean, I haven’t stopped working since the third day after Game 6 of the 2019 Finals. You might not see me a lot, but, oh, I’m working.”

Thompson said that he’d “love” to play again this season, but is going to exercise caution as not to jeopardize the rest of his career.

“I don’t know what’s gonna come this season. I would love to get out there,” Thompson said. ” … I know it’s a tough part of the season. It’s very rare for me not to be grinding through it with them, but I’m trying to make sure this type of injury never happens to me again, so I’ll be very patient — because I want to play at a high level until I’m in my late 30s.”

Thompson is set to be re-evaluated around the All-Star break in mid-February, but Warriors coach Steve Kerr said in October that it was unlikely that his sharpshooter would take the court this season. April would be the nine-month mark for his rehab, and if the Warriors were chasing a playoff spot it might conceivably make sense to bring Thompson back, the team’s current state makes it almost impossible to imagine a scenario in which Thompson suits up this season.

Instead Golden State can look toward 2020-21, when they’ll hopefully have their core of Thompson, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green back fully healthy, with D’Anglo Russell, a high lottery pick and/or assets picked up in a trade for one or both of them.
