A few words she had to say.

How old are you?

I’m 16 years old

What is your favorite genre to sing and why?

My favorite genre to sing is acoustic pop and indie. I really love laid back, sad songs that are mainly composed with piano or guitar.

These songs are the most powerful to me and I think they portray the most emotion or meaning.

What inspired you to start singing? And what age did you start singing?

About a year and a half ago, I dislocated my knee and had to get surgery, and I was devastated that I couldn’t dance anymore.

So, I turned to music to get me through it, and I also took up voice lessons freshman year of high school.

My voice teacher was amazing and gave me so much confidence, pushing me to perform and start my Instagram!

If you could compare yourself to anyone in the music industry who would it be?

If I could compare myself to anyone in the music industry, I would pick Daughter.

I think her songs are the kind of songs I like making, with powerful instrumentals and a breathy voice a bit like mine.

Who are your favorite artist and why?

My favorite artists right now are the band Cage The Elephant.

Their heavy style isn’t what I usually listen to, but their lyrics are very meaningful and give me such a sense of nostalgia.

My favorite songs by them are Telescope and Cigarette Daydreams.

Do you have any advice for teens in your field?

For any teens in my field, my sole advice would be to just go for it!

I think people are too often scared of what other people will think about their music or sound, and it keeps them from reaching their full potential or exploring new styles.

Before you’re going to post something, don’t have self-doubt, just click the button.

You never know who’s going to really be impacted by your music, and you might be surprised by the outcome.
