Teenagers these days care more about fashion and how they look keeping up with the latest teen fashion trends. During this stage of their lives, they start discovering themselves and they use fashion as a form of expression. Let’s see some of the hottest trends that teenagers are following in the fashion world.
Streetwear fashion started in New York City as a part of the hip hop culture in the early 1980s. At first people dressed in this style were ween as sloven, but the use of streetwear has been growing and getting stronger in the past couple of years thanks to the constant search of comfortable fashion. Nowadays streetwear is making its way into the luxury fashion world. Brands like Supreme, Off White, or Adidas are some of the leaders when it comes to setting streetwear fashion trends among teenagers.
Within this macro trend, we can find different teen fashion trends.
One of the biggest trends in streetwear are sneakers, teenagers love big chunky and collectible sneakers because they’re comfortable and they can style them with pretty much everything. When it comes to this type of sneakers, teenagers look for brands like Yeezy, Nike Air, Adidas, Fila, or Vans as they are the top brands in the sneakers market.
Part of the comfortable fashion trend is to wear loose clothes, this goes from oversized jackets and t-shirts to big and loose bottoms, mainly sweatpants. Teenage girls tend to style their oversized sweats with tight crop tops, chunky sneakers, and some jewelry to finish the look; on the other side boys style them in similar ways but wearing printed t-shirts on top. To finish the look they throw on an oversized hoodie and they’re ready to go.
Another way to add something oversized to create a trendy look is to put on a vintage loose bomber jacket, teens use this garment to complete casual and more formal looks.
For a while fanny packs seemed to have died in the fashion world, but these days boys and girls are using them to complete their looks for when they’re not at school. These waist bags are perfect for them because they can fit all of their essentials that for teens mostly resume to earphones, cellphone, wallet, and keys.
Instead of wearing it traditionally around the waist, the trend these days is to wear it like a crossbody with the zipper either on the back or on the front, this way they can carry their stuff and still have both hands free.
