Hello everyone we had the chance to interview teen thrift seller Hailey Peters. Hailey is honestly a genius for this.

Her teen thrift store is full of nothing but incredible clothing items that you’ll definitely want instantly. She is definitely a great and reliable teen thrift seller to buy from.

Her personal account currently has 8.8k followers on Instagram. While her clothing page has 38.8k followers. You should definitely check it out because you’ll for sure find something you like.

How old are you?

I’m 19 years old, currently a sophomore at Rutgers University.

How’d you come up with the idea to start selling thrifted clothes?

I’ve watched youtube videos on thrifting for a while, but my boyfriend introduced me to GaryV which got me into selling clothes (usually vintage or sports jerseys) on Ebay & Poshmark. I wanted to make an Instagram account to sell the clothes because I saw a few others so that’s when my account started!

What type of clothes do you mainly sell or do you mostly sell anything you can get your hands on?

I take a lot of time to thrift- I usually spend over 2 hours shopping every time I go into the thrift store. I try to keep a wide variety of styles, but all of the clothes I thrift are always clothes I’d end up wearing myself. I post all types of clothes from jeans and sweatpants to tanks and hoodies.

Since you sell clothes how has it impacted your sense of style?

I definitely have a new sense of style ever since starting my business. I’ve started to express myself more in clothing & I’m way more comfortable wearing clothes I never thought I would wear before. My style has definitely expanded into new areas.

What are some of your goals for the future?

I wanna start my own business in the future, that’s the ultimate goal for sure. My page has become such a big part of my life & I definitely want to keep it in my life for as long as I can. I can’t imagine my life without it, so whatever my future holds I will be bringing my page into it!

Do you have any advice for teens in your field?

For any teens in the same category as me, just stay motivated! It took me a while to get to where I am and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t give up a few times.

Just stay focused & ignore the criticism! Back when I had under 500 followers and not many sales, people called it weird. Now I have almost 40,000 followers and over 2,000 sales all within a year. Just stay focused and driven & ignore any negativity.
