Working from home isn’t so bad, considering you can wear sweatpants all day, watch Netflix while you work and sleep in a little longer in the morning. The downside, however, is that maybe your home isn’t fully equipped to get your best work done.

Besides acquiring a desk, if you want to look your most professional on camera, you have to think like a professional movie star and get yourself some good lighting. You don’t see Meryl Streep taking interviews in the dark!

That said, the Radiance Selfie Ring Light is about the size of your palm and it clips over your computer or phone camera. Simply turn it on and it will give you the perfect glow. And it’s only $16 on Amazon.

Over the course of the pandemic, I’ve taken video calls from my sofa and realized that the lighting around me is just not camera-ready. I either have a windows behind me, which make me look like a shadowy figure doing an anonymous interview, or it looks like I’m sitting in a dim basement. Neither are super great, so recently (nearly a year into WFH) I bought this clip-on ring light. Let me tell you, it has changed everything. Even my co-workers have noticed! Check out the before and after below.

The light has three different light modes — daylight, white and warm — and one button for turning it on, choosing your mode and turning it off. It’s rechargeable and comes with a USB cord you can plug into your computer or a USB charger. Though it charges up pretty fast, the battery life is only up to about two hours.

I recently started clipping it onto my phone to take selfies, make TikTok videos and take better food photos. Even if I’m not wearing any makeup, it still gives me a nice glow and makes my skin look smoother and brighter.

If your coworkers are commenting on your basement-like lighting or you just want a simple glow-up, this clip-on ring light is totally worth the $16.
