It’s time to mask up — in more ways than one! Actor Tom Holland gave fans a clever sneak peek at the filming of Spider-Man 3 and made a statement about wearing your mask to slow the spread of COVID-19 — all in one.
Tom posted a pic of himself in the superhero costume as he started work on the latest installment of the Spider-Man franchise, posing against a blue screen. Tom’s not only wearing Spidey’s signature stretchy blue and red gear, but also rocking a white face covering on top. “Wear a mask, I’m wearing two…” he captioned the pic. The bright shade of the mask provides a nice (and patriotic) pop against the Spidey suit and gives Peter Parker’s go-to ensemble a very 2020 update. Even superheroes in the Marvel Universe need to do their part to care for others and stop a global pandemic!
Tom was, of course, making a statement about the importance of mask-wearing, which continues to be imperative to help contain the COVID-19 virus. Many states now have mask mandates, making mask-wearing a requirement to enter a place of business, and since they became mandatory in so many places across the globe, it’s also given fashion fans another chance to express themselves via face covering — the creativity some mask-wearers have shown is truly amazing! (Oh, and if you’re Joe Jonas, you rock a mask of your brother Nick’s face.)
We’ve shared some of our faves before, and the options are truly endless when it comes to choosing a reusable mask (or two) for you. You can go classic and simple like Tom did with his white mask, or literally rock a Spidey-themed mask. Gap Kids has some cute ones for the littles in your life, and, as always, you can find anything on Etsy! Take a cue from a literal superhero and mask up to help save the world.
