As college programs reload for the 2022 season, the transfer portal provides one avenue for roster growth.

By adding transfers, programs are able to find proven players, who bring experience and other intangibles that incoming freshmen canโ€™t yet provide, because they havenโ€™t been at that level yet.

Players opt to transfer for various reasons. Maybe itโ€™s a career reboot, maybe it was a coaching change at their previous school, or maybe itโ€™s a decision based on academic interests. The COVID-19 pandemic has also provided college players with an extra year of eligibility.

To keep track of whoโ€™s going where across menโ€™s college soccer in the region, New England Soccer Journal has its transfer tracker for the 2022 season.
