This year’s Division 1 women’s soccer NCAA Tournament field is whittled down to eight teams, with matchups set for just after Thanksgiving.
But there won’t be any local program raising the national trophy on Dec. 5 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. Ivy League powerhouses Brown and Harvard were bounced in the second round, while New Hampshire and Quinnipiac were eliminated in the first round.
Does that mean New England-centric interests have fizzled out? Not by any means.
