Zayn Malik is kicking off 2021 with new music — an entire album of new material, to be exact! According to Pop Crave, Zayn’s third studio album will be titled Nobody is Listening and is set to drop on January 15, with a new single called “Vibez” landing in our ears and streaming services on Friday, January 8.
Zayn himself shared the news of his upcoming single with a short video teaser, which he posted to Twitter in the early hours of January 7. The 12-second video opens in an empty theater with the word “Tomorrow” onscreen, and what is probably a blurb of the song playing in the background.
Zayn previously dropped a sweet, low-key ballad called “Better” in late September, so if that’s any indication of Nobody is Listening‘s vibe, the new album will have a slightly more introspective sound. This, of course, is fitting for where the former One Direction star is at in life; he welcomed his first child, a daughter, with Gigi Hadid last fall, and we bet he’s been busy singing lullabies in between recording sessions.
Zayn has kept a relatively low profile over the past year and hasn’t shared much information about Nobody is Listening, what inspired the album, or what fans can expect from his latest release. According to the album’s page on Apple Music, there are 11 tracks on the album, but only “Better” and “Vibez” have complete titles. Zayn does love a bit of mystery when it comes to what he’s working on, so we’ll have to wait until January 15 to see what Nobody is Listening holds. Will we get a cameo appearance from baby girl, or maybe a heartfelt song about his new life as a father? We’re officially curious and counting down the days.
